BIBLICAL COUNSELLING INTENSIVES

At Gospel Care Canada, we offer trained and experienced biblical counselling for individuals and couples who need focused, unhurried care during complex or demanding seasons. We understand that some struggles cannot be meaningfully addressed within the pace of weekly or bi-weekly sessions alone.

A Biblical Counselling Intensive provides an intentional pause. It is a protected space to step away from daily pressures and give careful attention to what matters most. Rooted in Scripture and centred on Jesus Christ, intensives help individuals and couples engage honestly with their circumstances and begin moving forward with clarity, hope, and faith shaped by God’s grace.

Over several consecutive days, intensives create a steady rhythm of focused counselling, personal reflection, prayer, and rest. This is not about quick fixes, but about allowing God’s Word to be heard clearly so that wise, grounded next steps can take shape with care and lasting direction.

INTENSIVES FOR INDIVIDUALS

An Individuals Biblical Counselling Intensive is designed for those who are facing complex, layered, or long-standing concerns and would benefit from concentrated time and focused care. This option is often helpful when clarity feels elusive, emotions are overwhelming, or significant decisions or transitions are approaching.

Individuals may seek an intensive when:
• Struggles have become difficult to address within weekly or bi-weekly counselling
• A season of discernment, loss, or crisis requires deeper reflection
• Patterns of fear, anxiety, shame, or discouragement feel entrenched
• There is a desire to slow life down and engage God’s Word more intentionally

During the intensive, counselling sessions focus on careful listening, biblical understanding of heart dynamics, Scripture-based instruction, and guided reflection and prayer. Afternoons are intentionally left unstructured to allow time for journaling, prayer, Scripture meditation, rest, and thoughtful engagement with assigned reflection exercises. Evenings are reserved for rest and renewal, trusting the Lord to continue His work beyond the sessions themselves.

The goal is not resolution of every concern, but renewed clarity, spiritual steadiness, and a faithful next step forward anchored in the grace of Christ.

If you are unsure whether your situation falls under an Intensive for Individuals, or whether another form of counselling may be more appropriate, our intake process will help you discern next steps. We do offer a 30 minute Initial Consultation, you can select this option when requesting an appointment.

INTENSIVES FOR MARRIED COUPLES

A Couples Biblical Counselling Intensive provides focused, unhurried care for married couples who need space to slow down together and address relational concerns that have become difficult to navigate within everyday life. This option is especially suited for couples who feel stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed by recurring patterns of conflict, hurt, or confusion.

Couples may consider an intensive when:
• Ongoing conflict or emotional distance has eroded trust or understanding
• Important relational decisions or transitions require discernment
• Previous counselling has felt too fragmented or rushed
• There is a desire to rebuild clarity, communication, and shared direction

Counselling sessions may include joint conversations as well as directed individual reflection, as appropriate. The focus is not on assigning blame or applying techniques, but on helping each spouse understand how desires, fears, expectations, and responses are shaping the relationship and how the gospel calls both toward humility, repentance, and renewed faithfulness.

Afternoons and evenings are structured to encourage rest, reflection, and relational presence without pressure to “fix” everything at once. Couples are encouraged to share meals, take walks, and practice being together in ways that reinforce connection and enjoyment before God.

The aim is not relational perfection, but renewed hope, clarity, and a wise pathway forward shaped by God’s truth and grace.

If you are unsure whether your situation falls under an Intensive for Individuals, or whether another form of counselling may be more appropriate, our intake process will help you discern next steps. We do offer a 30 minute Initial Consultation, you can select this option when requesting an appointment.
