Course Description
Gospel Care Canada offers ABC Level 2 Certificate training for students who have completed and received their ABC Level One Certificate. Our certificate preparation and training offers five core components that will provide students all they need to successfully complete ABC requirements.
Through Gospel Care Canada students will receive further training, supervision, and group support to help them meet the ABC requirements and solidify the theological framework while developing them into a well-equipped counsellor.
Students will be provided access to a Level 2 online classroom for assignments and resources. This course can be accomplished completely online.
The program includes our five core components:
- Biblical Counselling Exam Preparation
- Theology Exam Preparation
- Biblical Counselling Practicum with Individual and Group Supervision (100 hours)
- 12 Units of Biblical Counselling Education
- Evaluation and Recommendation
These five core components of the Level 2 preparation are unique to Gospel Care Canada. No other ABC Level 2 Certification program provides this level of expert training and equipping. In addition to this training, because our training is offered in a cohort setting, students gain a community of other biblical counsellors who will be a supportive resource in the years ahead. Many students find that the connections made in these cohorts serve to be a vital support in their future counselling ministry.
REQUIREMENTS
- Complete 100 hours of counselling divided into 20 hours observing, 20 hours being observed, 60 hours of solo counselling. The process will include regular case review, counselling notes, and assessments. Students will have from 10 months up to two years to complete the requirements.
- Participate in your cohort to learn and grow including meetings with the supervisor to discuss cases.
- Complete the counselling and theology exams.
- Complete 12 hours of continuing biblical counselling education.
